Linn County REC respects the privacy of member-consumer information.

Member Average Billing History

Average billing history information for an account can be provided upon written request. Once a written request is made, Linn County REC will provide average kWh consumption at a residence, business, or property. This information may be given via the telephone, email or in person.

Member Billing History to a Third-Party

Billing history information at a residence, business, or a property to a third-party for an account can only be released by filling out Linn County REC’s Member Usage Authorization Form. The member whose name is on the account must sign the release form. Linn County REC reserves the right to verify the request directly with the account holder before sending usage information to a third-party.  

Members can call in to request their past usage without submitting an Authorization Form by verifying information asked by our Member Services Department.  All usages will be sent via email or mail.  Linn County REC will not reach out to their members on behalf of a third-party.

Iowa Code Section 476.56: "A gas or electric public utility shall provide, upon the request of a person who states in writing that the person is an owner of real property, or an interested prospective purchaser or renter of the property, which is or has been receiving gas or electric service from the public utility, the annual gas or electric energy costs for the property."
